The average life of a corporate vtuber is somewhere around 3 years.
It should be noted that the EN vtuber space is a bit different. Indie vtubers are doing much better in EN than the rest of the world. This is primarily because twitch is a platform that is extremely popular at least in EN but not so much anywhere else. New large indie vtubers come up everyday, a 12 view I liked recently became a 400+ viewer overnight. The indie scene is so tight with them constantly raiding and supporting each other despite not having any contractual obligations to so.
One of the main benefits of being a corpo vtuber is that a lot oc the networking and back end stuff is done for you. You have a baseline group of people you can collab with, work with, and you have management that can do all the merch and behind the scenes stuff. The indie scene in EN however being so tight has basically alleviate the need besides the merch situation but there are so many alternatives to creating merch nowadays. Vtubing in 2023 is much different than vtubing in 2020. The benefits of corpos in EN are basically not there unless you specifically want to be in 3D concerts.
I think Mysta will go back as an indie and I do think that will work well enough for him in the EN space.
