>>12372048It's my favorite as well. As someone said, it was kind of a "reset" for the series, but it's kind of a refinement and consolidation of the gameplay of all of the Windows 2hu games to that point.
Also the music is absolutely ZUN at his peak. It's no surprise that the music from MoF finds its way into two of his soundtrack CDs, it includes a greatly enhanced version of an already incredible theme from the previous game (Wind God Girl), and its game over theme is still used in newer games today.
I could honestly keep going on about MoF, it's just really good. Like how it introduced characters like Aya and Sanae who are arguably as popular as the Scarlet Devil Mansion crew.
