>>105947380Neoconservatism was formed in the 1960s in America on the basis of using interventionist foreign policy to change the world as you want. Neoconsevatives actually tried to start several wars with the Soviet Union based on lies too.
If they had any political authority during the Cuban Missile Crisis, we wouldn't exist because their first choice was invasion and escalation which would have lead to nuclear war. it was only after 9/11 that they were able to get what they want, including the attack on Iraq that was based on lies, only to have America waste trillions of dollars on it in attempt to prop up governments in the middle east and fund it to their own oil and military companies.
Watch the documentary The Power of Nightmares, it does a great job of explaining both the rise of Neoconservatism and Islamic fundamentalism in the 1990s onwards.Modern Conservatism as a whole is inherently authoritarian since it's based on the writings of Joseph de Maistre in the aftermath of the French Revolution who believed you should be obedient to the political authority and authority should only be given to the few and out of the hands of the masses. Originally that authority was the monarchy, but conservatives have retooled it to mean the rich once it was clear monarchies were unsustainable after the Revolutions of 1830.
>But limited government!A meme, just like saying they're following the writing of Edmund Burke. Conservatives have no problem having a massive government, as long as they fully control it. When they say they want to limit the size of government, it's to limit the masses participating in it.
