The thing with old planes though is that people like to keep them original, so the surviving ST's still use the 1920's inverted inline 4 engine, god knows how they find parts
Picrel is kitplane replica some people built a few years ago. IIRC it's scaled down to 95% size so they can use common modern homebuilt aviation engines, but they made the cockpit bigger. They're selling kits for people to build one themselves, but I haven't heard of a second example being finished yet
