>>85084515It's annoying when it's real avatarfagging, which is to say somebody who insists on posting with their personal name and branding on every post. It's different when you directly address someone and they come out of hiding to respond as themselves, or they are actually doing something with that identity like posting their fanart or updating you on something. You only see them "avatarfagging" occasionally where they want or need to identify themselves. Ongoing sagas are fun, but somebody posting that way all the time just to be seen and not to enhance the experience in any way can get really annoying.
A lot of ours are fake avatarfags that only seem that way because you can only recognize them some of the time, but if you're fucking autistic, that means they're 100% avatarfagging and only present some of the time. A valid example is the Michi eyes poster, but he's really low on the scale since he doesn't dramatically argue using the same 10 images with his rants and gatekeeping becoming a fixture of the thread every week. It's one of those things where the exact definition doesn't matter and you know it when you see it, and I don't see it.
If you made one of ours mad, most of them would stop responding or hide their "avatar" to avoid shitting up the entire thread. Real deal avatarfags will continue the same argument across 100 threads without stopping and smugly post about their debate winrate, starting a new ongoing argument whenever attacked, so they're just a tumor that we'd have to pretend isn't there and try our best not to reply to. The idea that our main Pico poster is a plague because he technically meets the bare minimum qualifications is nonsensical and hopefully not serious.
Obviously this pattern of behavior could be applied to any intentional identifying feature, but avatars are always this smug shit you get REALLY sick of seeing. The guy doing it is always a massive narcissist or he'd get sick of the images himself. I don't think we currently have even a single problem poster,
unless it's me and everyone else knows it or something.
