https://twitter.com/minatoaqua/status/1538066694999900160This feels like a random tweet, but the replies are quite informative.
Aqua is not streaming at all, but she keeps her fans updated on what she is doing, recording or going out for food or whatever. She seems to have at least one update every 2 days (sometimes even daily).
Most of the replies are basically "oh good work, hope you're well" and all sorts of well wishes and normal conversation type stuff.
And seeing that I had an epiphany about the whole "idol" thing.
In the idol industry, you only "see" the idols when they release a song, or when they perform live, or when they hold an event or something.
Idolfag audience is used to not seeing their "oshi"s for long periods of time while they do their recording or whatever.
Idols "streaming" is considered a "bonus" over the traditional meetups or whatever. And not really the norm.
I wonder if that vibe transferred over to Hololive, and whether this is the reason a lot of JPs can take breaks without losing their audience.
And I wonder if this is why ENs feel "lazy" since we treat them mostly as streamers first (and not idols), so not streaming makes it feel like they're being lazy.
