Debut-era Luna was pretty much a slump, shy about initiating collabs and always sticking to solo. (Just like Korone before she had her own character arc last year) It was Festival who reached out to Luna, helped her get around with colleagues, teach her the basics and lend her a hand when she was having a rough patch. They became really good friends, Luna started growing dependant on Festival, and the latter who's still suffering from the aftershock of getting BTFO by pic related, starts flirting and teasing with Luna. Stuff ensues, they keep mentioning each other in their own solo streams, late night texting, getting each other gifts etc. all the good stuff that leads to the forming of an intimate relationship. While all of this is going on Matsuri talks about how much she cares about Luna, and how she doesn't want to creep her out, how she's socially retarded (Matsuri's situation is pretty tragic in the way that she's a real lesbo in the vtuber industry, who are full of women "acting" like lesbos)
Whatever happened afterwards is a bit of a shadow to all of us. In all of a sudden they stopped talking to each other/collaborating, even fucking mentioning their names INDICATING that they had the "talk" on how they want to move their relationship forward. Matsuri goes on hiatus, leading everyone to believe something happened with Luna. Baby princess celebrates her birthday in the meanwhile. Matsuri comes back with a cover + MV she paid from her own pocket that heavily implies the relationship between her and Luna to be nothing more than "sisterly." Luna doesn't acknowledge the video or Matsuri's tweets at all. Matsuri retweets said video 5-10 times. Luna ghosts Matsuri for weeks... Until they're finally back on speaking terms again. Are they as good friends as they were? Who knows. But Luna really likes to take a jab at Matsuri's shitty behavior. Matsuri once asked her why she never replies to her LINE messages, and Luna outright said "When I open LINE I always have to see your Hoshikawa icon at the top" FOLLOWED by a cover of a song called 3 Years of Infidelity.
