>>51107929I watched a few early vids of their series actually...
Where Hologra had quick snappy jokes and references crammed into every second, homogra was a bit... slower and more methodical(?) idk if that's the word for it.
Some shots lingered for too long, some jokes had a little too much gap between them, and some jokes were just plain bad.
Also the homo "memes" are not something that's easy to sell to most people.
Holos have stuff that can be used in Hologra that's built-in by their own design -
> Chocosen needles/nurse role> Shion's magic> Pekora's carrots> Some Holos' animal-theming> Aki's floating twintails> Roboco's robot partsetc. all of which help set up the FOUNDATIONS for an "anime-like" world that they can then build up their own jokes from.
Homos... well they're just not "anime" enough. There's no design like Shion that screams "mage" among homos.
There's no design like Pekora that screams "bunny girl".
There's no "doctor" design like Choco among Homos.
There's very little "accessories" like Peko carrots, Aki twintails, Roboco's robot arms, A-chan's glasses etc.
This restricts a lot that the homogra writers can play around with. Where Hologra starts off with a fantastical base, homogra already has a design disadvantage.
On top of this, they tried to use the "native" memes that are known among the homo audiences.
You actually need to be a streamwatcher to "get" these references, and so it's extremely unfriendly for newer viewers to get into.
Watch an early ep of hologra and although it'll be wacky as hell, you'll still have some laughs and curiosity about who these girls are.
Homogra just doesn't have that same oomph.
