>>36631514 got it. A war scythe/glaive is just kind of a more sensible weapon (That's why that's what non-catalognaut Deadbeats would use in battle). Here, the reaper scythe's "configuration" has a few functions. First, the outer edge of the scythe is also sharpened (like Mori's), so you can do some weird thrusts and counter-swings with it. Second, it has a spike on the other side that can be used like a standard bec-de-corbin. Third, and most importantly, using the Reaper's scythe as a weapon allows the catalognaut to increase their conceptual connection to the Goddess, increasing their supernatural powers.
