Most tellingly this is what soured people on Bae, she wasn't ACTUALLY much wrong, people were just annoyed going "come on already, be funny we're waiting for it, do pranks or weird streams or something" etc and she doesn't really. If we never expected it and she herself didn't feel a need to try to be wild and screechy and just be a chill little rrat people wouldn't have found her disappointing.
I'm too lazy to go pull it up but I'm pretty sure Ame's lore originally had nothing about a time travel detective in it at all. It felt like Ame made it up on the spot to make herself more interesting/standout compared to her chuuni fantasy genmates (ina practically being a monmusu with the tentacles). However, in doing this unexpectedly, she is able to control it and bring it up or just not care about it as-needed because no pressure, it's not actually a defining trait or expectation but just a sudden bit of fun if she feels like it. Same goes for Haachama and her schizo split stuff. Not a word, not a letter of that, in her description - she just felt like doing it. If a girl wants to make a little story or lore of some kind then let her, but if she doesn't then who cares.
