Tried out the Dawn of War Unification Mod and the sheer amount of <stuff> is jaw-dropping. There's some roughness that makes apparent that it might not be professionally made in a studio but the quality is still nice and believable for the era of the game. The factions' mechanics are really creative, clever and make you think and strategize in new ways, offering dozens and dozens of more possible matchups for skirmish matches, so many new situations to experience some fresh Dawn of War. Also a survival gamemode that seems cool but I didn't even get to that yet.
That said, the mod is hamstrung by the game engine's limitations that it cannot process more than 3GB of memory so the sometimes sub-optimally optimized modded content murks down the performance. The game simply cannot run big maps with even modest graphical settings with the custom factions no matter how powerful your PC is.
