As for the pronunciation, from what I can find it's apparently meant to be pronounced as "waltz" like the dance, although I just say "valz" as that's what I'm used to.
There's quite a nice bit of translated content for them, so definitely enough to see if you like them. My personal favourite is Kaida's emerald tree arc. It's very sweet, cute and funny (especially when Shellin Burgundy gets invovled.)
