After Selen put her foot down and demanded her old manager back, upper management conceded, but are passively retaliating by tightening her leash. Seems like a somewhat similar situation to Zaion going over her then-current (and apparently inexperienced) manager's head by asking for help from the manager she and the rest of XSoleil had during training. It kinda sounded like it was the start of her descent within Niji, at least the way Zaion told it.
