Meanwhile most indies use VTubeStudio that's built on relatively recent dependencies. Using OpenSeeFace with a webcam for tracking also really helps make the models look and feel more responsive.
My own knowledge on the subject is still very limited. You'd need someone with more knowledge on Live2D and face tracking software for a more detailed explanation.
