>>3246323Noticing your expression of horror, she immediately begins damage control.
"I did it again! I'm really sleepy, that's why. I forgot that you still have memories from this timeline instead of your real ones. That girl's several times great grandfather was a serial killer in Victorian England. He made Jack the Ripper look like a poser, but I got him arrested after his very first murder using time travel. I saved a whole bunch of people, and got rid of that girl too, since they guy never got to have kids. Now I've finally got you back, and the memory serum is almost done. With it I'll be able to fix your amnesia, and everything will be back to normal!"
You try to sit up and begin raising concerns, but you realize very quickly that your body no longer has the strength to move, nor can your tongue move in any coherent pattern. The girl worriedly looks to you before explaining.
"Shoot, I forgot to mention the injection I just gave you! The memory serum has to go right into the brainstem, so I gave you something so you don't squirm when I insert it. The memory serum took a lot of science to make too. It's some pretty fancy stuff, but basically I can use my own DNA, which came from our timeline, to overwrite all of your fake memories and give you back your real ones. Pretty impressive stuff, huh? Aren't you proud your girlfriend is ALSO a doctor?"
Panic overtakes you as you realize the severity of your current situation, but there's nothing you can do as the girl stretches, hops off the couch and goes to take a mixture from the work table and place it into another syringe. She sits you up and takes the needle in one hand, the point sitting at the back of your neck as she stares dreamily into your eyes. There is a bit of fear and something darker darting across them, but it seems like her love for "you" has drowned out most of those other feelings. Positioning you so you are sitting upright and seated normally on the couch, she straddles your lap, her folded knees on either side of your hips. She takes your chin in her other hand and brings you in for a soft yet heavy kiss as the needle pierces flesh. Your mind swims with thoughts, and as you lose consciousness again you get the distinct impression not all of them were your own, as the embrace of this stranger suddenly seems a tad familiar.
