Don't think I've ever actually passed a merit-based, competitive interview process.
As it is I'm about to turn 30 without a job and I don't even have a field/sector locked down as a general career direction, let alone moving up in a career like I should be at my age.
Sorry, I know this isn't the place to whinge but I feel like I've been stabbed in the back and Marine's comments are so blind to her privilege (looks and social skills, as you said) it kinda twisted the knife.
