It's bad design, maybe you can say an incompetent person designed it, but seeing how much this happens across the designs it's enough of a pattern I think think its ai error over an entire team of incopetent artists letting these designs slide. It reminds me of bootleg action figures, you know where they dont know anything about design and they just copy to make a quick buck? Yeah this is that.
