People forget that Hololive is an idol company. Although EN is far from being idols, it's still in its roots. If someone like Okayu starts being as inconsistent as Gura, the reactions will be the same. Concern first, but after 2 years people are gonna be mad. It's not like Gura is acting like that for a month, it's been 2 fucking years. A lot of the EN fans came from JP Holos, with the mentality that they are idols, and attached to them as such. Most of the people complaining about Gura are 2 year+ members as well, which is also when she, AND HoloEN as a whole, started. People are trying to gatekeep my feelings of worry and frustration, while in fact they should be the ones that were gatekept from joining the community in the first place.
Like, I know I'm fucking parasocial and I don't care, that's my coping mechanism. And I'm not justifying harrassing her for that, or even the shit in prechat which is honestly pretty cringe, I just want a twitter update saying "I'm fine" or something other than random words and "noises".
Moral of the story: be an elitist, gatekeep your hobbies and keep the cancer away.
