Where do we stand on Lia fellow /pcg/gers?
At the start of her generation she was far and away the strongest VA talent and took being burdened with the debut company asset model and mascot in astounding stride. Obviously there is a foundational performer oriented mindset with her background but translating the disciplines she was versed in has been difficult considering the chuuba medium. Phase Invaders may have been a mixed blessing with the bimbo burden being offloaded to Lumi but with that came a huge threat to her resident company VA supremecy. Gentoo has only made this exceptionally worse with the addition of Erina's powerhouse VA talents. I'm struggling to conceptualize the single strong point Lia holds over the other talents and when you objectively look at it her strongest suite is in the presentation of her meta contextual character development as the "vulnerable" menhera. Remi's recent daughter does a drink stream firmly seated her in the role of justifiable sob story with her heart wrenching sob and sniffle fest globally tugging heart strings and other. This really helps to define the primary draws of Lia to her "self inflicted" struggles and paradoxically incentivizes her to create further difficulties in her chuuba career path. Lia's only other draw is her encyclopedic knowledge and /here/ relatable hyper focus on very niche gacha phone games and a series of rpg maker nostalgia that allowed her to flew her VA talent. The disclosure of her social media marketing education may further cement her role as a second string "support" personality as, complimentary to the primary ability of her infectious smiling through the pain energy, her ability to engage and invigorate her collab partner is unmatched within the company. Fittingly this piggybacking only plays into the malware characterization of her 2.0 Lia model. Phase has some certified "Platinum" level performers now who can hold the lead roles in the company and I am glad that our Lia is learning to pace herself and take a more reserved approach to content. The subtle withdraw in her first return collabs and the full acceptance of vulnerability in how she justifies her position within the company while she balances out her well broadcasted personal life, and difficulties in executing content creation to the level she demands of herself creates a strong feeling of the traditional retro overwhelmed anime girl running late to class. I hope Lia can continue to grow and shape herself into an archetype that compliments the dominant personalities of the company and is able to maintain a characterization that is increasingly easy for her to slip into without much exertion. I will still always be there to enjoy her heavy concentration phone game streams where she is in the enviable position of just broadcasting her very specific mumble mumble interests for us to partake in but I hope she will continue to write and perform these beautifully open and vulnerable character arcs that expose the trials of her life roleplaying as an anime girl online.
