https://nyaa.si/view/1361620It's always good idea to store what you hold dear, and it indeed should be done before something happens, not after.
You would want to decide on formats, quality and naming scheme and keep it for all the data. All the work, including torrent updating if you want to have it. should be done by script running on schedule so you won't forget to do it. If one day you have to share it, you'd want to be able to run a single command and be done instead of taking time dealing with torrent uploading for the first time. It's also good to make sure you will be able to actually seed it.
Single 4Tb external hdd should be around the price of single akasupa and will lasts for a while space-wise, but you'd normally have a second copy.
Membership content should go in separate torrent. It's much less, about 25Gb in 720p vp9, and there are already some, though not complete, torrents on nyaa. Nobody saved community posts as far as I know.
Youtube does ac1 to vp9 conversion after stream ends, so I ended up normally downloading each stream twice: archive version after post-processing is done, and live version as emergency copy and to actually watch myself while VOD is processing if I miss stream start.
