Feet smell is caused by bacteria that grow well in very moist salty conditions. These feed on things like dead skin cells, and their waste products are made from breaking down proteins, especially those that contain sulfur.
The same bacteria are also present in the salty and humid conditions in cheese making which results in similar smell between feet and cheese.
