Seeing Maplestory being streamed reminds me of when it made me cry like a month ago. During really old Maplestory there were a bunch of famous quests that everybody did, such as Maya's medicine or trying to convince Alex to return home to Chief Stan.
When the current update dropped, they secretly added an "epilogue" to those quests where you had to go around and talk to these people to receive updates on what happened after, with Maya personally thanking you for helping her even if she was still stick, and Chief Stan and Alex both reminiscing about how much you've grown since the start. They even teased how much they didn't recognize you and hoped you didn't forget about them as you continued on with your adventure.
The dialogue was incredibly wistful, with the NPCs expressing their melancholic acknowledgement of you going so far out of their reach that they can't even see your back anymore, with their prayers supporting your endeavor to subjugate the Black Mage.
It made me cry then and even thinking about it now I'm tearing up a bit.
