In late August 2023 when Phase was doing the Mahjong sponsorship and Lia was MCing the event while Iori and Remi commentated, the day of that stream Hurricane Hillary was hitting close to where Lia lived and there was a real threat that she and the other SoCal girls wouldn't be able to make it because of the weather/power outage.
So the thread was looking for updates to see how bad the weather was by finding live feeds of the Los Angeles area. Ultimately a plane spotting channel from 2 brothers called LA Flights was live streaming all the landings and takeoffs from LAX during the hurricane. Also during this stream an earthquake happened, but the crazy brothers kept streaming. The thread watched them all day because they were engaging and funny, and plane posting became a thread tradition ever since.
