>>73553142I had a friend who thought hololive was just "parasocial bait for coomers" because of what he saw on Twitter (who knows what the fuck he even watched, maybe the Rushia thing got too far out the vtuber sphere) and when I showed him a Suityan concert he was like "oh wow this is some cool shit and real talent see why can't vtubers from nijisanji/vshojo/hololive do this" and I told him she was from hololive and he didn't know what to say.
It's honestly amazing both how a few shitters can fuck with people's impressions of an entire genre so easily and how people are so opinionated over things they clearly know jack shit about, but also that means they're easy to turn around. I don't think he watches Suityan nor hololive but at least he won't dismiss them immediately like before.
