The Vampire leader of the city (not known to the public) trying to turn the city against the Emperor and Archbishop's Armies marching on the city (to deal with the vampires but they want to do a full purge unlike our party trying to deal with them so it doesn't become a slaughter) was trying to stir the public up into being ready to fight the armies in a siege defense. The doom Cult of the Eternal Night showed up and assassinated him in public (he turned to gas), and then a bunch of them committed sudoku and summoned demons, because they want to just murder everyone in ritual sacrifice including themselves.
