>>88907095Depends. A concussion affects the brain instantly but CTE is a likely explanation for why some of those people seem to get progressively more and more confused/detached -looking over time. The issue is it's impossible to diagnose without a dissection and as you can imagine it's probably pretty hard to find volunteers for that. Iirc it's been researched or at least documented for a long time but entertainment industries keep sweeping it under the rug because it would spook the sportsmen.
