If all of their decisions regarding Stars affected Stars only, this wouldn't turn into drama every single time. They don't reach their hand out for new fans. They slap the hands of current fans to detach- and get a vacant free hand, then join hands with the new fans while the old fans who built up the hobby from nothing with their monetary support get treated like villains who are "in the wrong hobby".
You can tell how much this hobby decayed by the general treatment of keyfabe. We used to have a strict saying "Do not rate the girls or compare them to each other, they are human beings behind their personas and that shit hurts", cut forward two years into the hobby and some Indonesian asshole-licking dogs post a rating board of the girls they set up on some random SEA convention right onto the official subreddit moderated by Cover, outing Aki as unpopular and attracting pity fags to go "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AKI ", and Cover lets it stay up for multiple days and 3-4k upvotes before the idiot moderator realizes how trashy it is towards Aki.
