It's an extremely long visual novel masquerading as an MMO that will take ages to complete and the people who watch it will want you to ONLY play FFXIV, so you have to alienate all your other viewers who watch you for other games. And then when you finish the story? Those same FF viewers will drop you like a rock. Then you have no audience at all, because your old audience who watched you for other games will have gotten fed up waiting for you to finish XIV and go back to other games and will have forgotten about you. And don't you DARE skip cutscenes, you MUST watch the 300 hour visual novel with horrible gameplay and barely any voice acting and you MUST read EVERY one of those unvoiced lines out loud to your audience.
Then you are stuck in a special kind of hell as your viewers have plummetted to below even pre-FFXIV. Sure you got a major boost playing the game in viewers/donos, but now that the story is over those viewers are gone and with them their donos. So you are back to where you were before but even lower because your old pre-XIV audience dropped you already. So you feel you have to keep playing FFXIV to desperately attempt to recapture that lost high but you'll never get it back until a new expansion. You can quit and go back to streaming other games, but you'll have to start over to build your audience, but you won't.
This has happened to so many streamers I've watched who fell for the FFXIV meme after the 2021 surge of the game on Twitch. And so many of these streamers ended up quitting streaming. Truly sad. Unless you're already a big established streamer than don't even touch the game if you want to still have a career.
