>>23719633Yeah, the Wii Wheel was why it was fun
and unfortunately, why the gameplay is one dimensional. They had to balance around it.>>23719648I was waiting for you to take the bait.>skill expressionsAgain, I have two words for you - Funky Kong. It's boring. That's like arguing MKDS had "skill expression" - the whole game boiled down to "who can snake better"
and was still more fun than MKWii.>best shortcutsThe ridiculous glitch based shortcuts in 64 alone are enough to prove you wrong. But, in order of descending difficulty, and not entirely complete:
>Calamari Desert Clip Skip humanly impossible, IIRC ONE person has achieved it, they muscle memory pause -> restart race'd live on stream when they finally got it after hours/days/weeks of grinding, kek>Frappe Snowland OOB Lap Skip>Choco Mountain OOB Lap Skip>Luigi Circuit OOB Lap SkipActually possible for casual play:
>Rainbow Road Jumps>Wario Stadium Lap Skip>Koopa Beach JumpHell, the Yoshi Circuit jump in DD is fun enough on its own. I'd race Baby Park forever before going back to Wii.
Mario Kart is supposed to "pop". It wasn't just my TV at the time or now, or the shitty video output from my launch day Wii. If you go back and emulate it, it has that same washed out "grey" palette of other AAA games from that era. It doesn't make sense. SMK popped. 64 fucking popped right out of my shitty 9" TV/VCR. DD popped, and popped hard with component cables. It even pops over HDMI. MK8 and MK8 Deluxe are visual feasts, the Wii U got no love man. Even Super Circuit fucking popped. MKWii has like no chroma.>>23719981Nay.
