Otsonny!! I typed out the post and then fell asleep before I actually posted it wtf.... Make the ball touch the red area. Q remastered was... quite the stream. This game reminds me of the shit I'd waste time on in coolmathgames and has mind-numbing music to match, featuring physics puzzles with deceptively simple objectives. I was unironically really surprised to see him subjecting himself to another puzzle game... it's like he's trying to build mental fortitude KEK. It was definitely a step up from the funny artsy cat game, that's for sure! Luckily though it has mouse support and spared him from suffering through doing all that drawing with the joystick, I think he would have legit hated the game without it. Even with this newfound power he seemed to either fly through the levels or get completely stuck, and with the latter we watched as he tried the same nonsensical solutions again and again, expecting a different result until he got lucky. He may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he's got resilience... Fuck you Alex. I will say that backseating was definitely rough today though, which can put a damper on my enjoyment of a stream when sonny needs to keep reminding greynames to follow the rules. But what got rid of those? Spending an entire hour replaying a single level in near-silence, of course! Q30 weathered away at his sanity until he was a blubbering husk of a man... by the thirty minute mark, Making the Ball Touch the Red Area was all he knew. I must admit I prefer my mindbreak in desolate silence like jump king, but I enjoyed his nonverbal whimpers when I could hear them above the torturous bgm as well. Though honestly by the third runthrough I was really starting to lose my goddamn mind, I would say the bit overstayed its welcome if pushing the limits of what his viewers will tolerate wasn't part of his character by now. You know, 36 levels in almost five hours isn't too bad when you take that tangent into consideration. For it being his second of three streams for the day he definitely lasted longer than I expected. Worst part is, he would have kept going and descending into madness if he didn't have a collab right around the corner, and in the end, that's only a small fraction of the levels the game has to offer. Ah... for some reason I can't shake the feeling we haven't seen the last of what Q Remastered. Gotta get revenge on Alex and those dumb fucking balls. Looking forward(?) to the eventual rematch.
Touch starved was pretty neat! The premise and aesthetic isn't really my style so I went in mostly just curious and looking forward to hearing sonny, but I was pleasantly surprised by the writing and stayed for almost all of it. I agree fuuchan casted the LIs very well, everyone killed it... I liked the balance of seriousness in the narration and dialogue, and the laughter + commentary they'd add in between the lines. Despite that lightheartedness fuuchan kept everything moving at a good pace, getting people in for their scenes in a pretty timely manner and whatnot. It's not super comparable considering the people involved and the genre of the VNs, but it went... quite a bit smoother than nekopara did all those months ago haha. Sonny as Leander was quite fitting, also his reaction to some of the sprites or dialogue was really fucking funny (especially compared to say... doppio who delivered the most questionable lines in the demo without hesitation, jesas vere). I did notice that his delivery improved even in the couple hours from Leander's introduction to his "epilogue" as he settled into the character more. Even if he tripped over a couple words I'm glad he had fun with it, he did so well. Everyone did! This is a great group and I hope they do more together in the future even if it's not this game specifically, makes me happy we have a lot of people in nijiEN seriously interested in VA. Otsu everybody!
Luxiem 2nd outfits finally happening means noctyx is next on the list and right now I'm a little nervous for sonny's outfit because I'm way too attached to his default look, it's perfect already... I'm definitely in the minority with that apprehension though, good to see briskadets in the threads really hyped for the inevitable change of pace. Well, as long as he keeps his bright hair and actually has toggles I can't complain too much, and I know he won't use it ALL the time. In the meantime I think Vox's outfit is the one I'm personally most excited to see— congrats on finally uncrossing your arms, demon. Thank you for four (4) sonny appearances in those 24 hours taichou, good work today! Rest well and see you next time! o7
