https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajwv4ANSSg0It was early 2021, I got back into vidya and started to watch vtubers less and less. At this point I only watched big events and 3D Lives. And if you remember, 2020-early 2021 3D lives were not that impressive, uninspired and I felt that it was the same thing over and over again. But everything changed when I watched Space for Virtual GHOST. I was even considering quitting watching chuubas.
I didn't watch Suisei that often before this aside from her karaoke streams but I was expecting a good show because she was known as a good singer so I made sure to tune in. My thoughts while watching the 3D Live ranged from "Hey this is pretty good" to "Suisei is the real deal..." by the end. It wasn't the best performance ever but everything about it was just perfect. The setlist was filled with great songs that had various feels to them, the guests were all fun and amazing and the special effects were way ahead of its time (for free 3D Lives). From the unique intro, the emotional TokoMachi duet, the Air band, the gondola reveal and to her orisong medley, everything about the Live was a blast. I thought to myself, "This must be what people felt when they watched Michael Jackson perform live for the first time". Of course Suisei is no Michael Jackson but I could feel the overwhelming passion from her performance at that time. Some of her dance moves were lacking and I thought that she could have sang some the songs better but the passion was there. It being a live "live" makes it even better. I even learned later that she was directly involved in the production down to the effects and camera angles of the live. This made me appreciate her passion for her craft even more.
Since late 2021 up to the present other holomem's 3D Lives have stepped up in both production values and their song and dance reps and I'm really glad for that. Seeing everyone improve is a very nice treat and shows one of the best parts of the "idol experience". I'd even accept that some of the other holomem's 3D Lives are better than this one now but the GHOST 3D Live still holds up. Thanks for reading my blog.
