Since some anons before had feedback on this, I've done a quick mockup using a new font (5 being the original suggestion). I'm thinking option 1 here is likely the most clear?
If you are wanting a settings cog on this it'll probably take me a bit, but I guess I'd need one for a 'compact' mode anyway.
If you guys have more suggestions for new player experience feel free to share, I did put some in the list I shared previously, but always willing to gather and consider more.
