I can tell that the prose is good but Ayame just felt so off that I couldn't get into this.
The portrayal of Ayame here is just so off from how I expect/envision Ayame that I couldn't even get into the mood to enjoy the smut. Which is weird given that I can at usually at the very least put aside off-characterization if the smut is good enough but here? I guess it's just in a fucking uncanny valley where it's not close enough to be what I imagine Ayame to sound like in prose but not far enough that I can just discard the name.
Like this series does seem to be competently written, it's just not for me.
