>>33382086I feel that currently Axel has such an interesting fanbase. He's got the yumes and fujos who do what female anime fans like to do. But then he's got the /m/ fans, coming from a subset of Japanese entertainment that's about as "boys being boys" as Japanese entertainment can get. Many /m/ fans tend to be older too, which may contrast with the likely younger fujos and yumes. And of course he also has JRPG fans, who might actually make up the overlap between these female and male fans. For me though, the coolest thing about his fanbase is how it bridges English and Japanese fans. It was really cool when English supas began asking about tokusatsu in his last stream, Japanese supas began to come in to talk about tokusatsu too. Lots of shared early Hesei era and Showa era love.
Overall, while I know most vtubers want to grow, I like how his audience feels like a tighter knit group of fans of particular flavors of content we can enjoy together. I actually think Axel's greatest strength next to his personality is how strongly he and his fans share interests. That's why I really hope he gets all the perms he wants, so he can plays the games he's most passionate about and would resonate well with the fanbase he's gathered.
Love this boy.
