>>31897562I remember having to painstakingly explain to my pre health advisor when writing my personal statement for medical school that no, I don't have some sort of amazing story or life struggles that drove me to the field, and even if I did, I only remember flashes of my childhood and adolescence at most, so no way I could remember it. I was genuinely a mostly-shut in who just had good grades and test scores, happened to like medicine and was lucky to meet people who could help me get the experiences needed to get in. I really was as boring as I seemed.
Took me like half a year to write something even mildly acceptable and it still turned out pretty mundane compared to pretty much all of the other applicants I knew
