Got my boy forsburn to platinum, he’s by far my best character now and it’s not even close
And speaking of, after thinking about his design and talking with a friend, I’ve come up with a slightly new direction for the chicken’s funny button. The essence I’m trying to get at with her is that she’s burning up her life force in order to gain an advantage. But leaving her in a weakened state doesn’t feel right. She needs to trade something off for something that’s also good but in a slightly different way. I think the route I’ve come up with is good for that.
When she presses the button, she trades off her ability to light people on fire, sacrificing her chip damage and sweetspots, but gains three “charges,” where if she presses the button she explodes on the spot and deals a chunk of damage to herself but puts out a body-sized hitbox that has about the same power as an uncharged smash attack. After those three (or some other number) charges are used up, she gets her fire back. The tradeoff here is passive offense (burning) for very active offense, made even more active because it’s big and fast so it can be used as a combo finisher. The percent taking is because of the phoenix thing for one, but also because this is a very good tool that shouldn’t be treated lightly.
