Orange is the obvious gag oriented character, often getting himself in humorous situations. This character is often used for developing the story or making jokes to keep the viewer's attention.
Pear, however, is the exact opposite. He is shown to be more logical and mellow then Orange, but still gets into mischief as Orange always drags him along. Pear is the straight man that pretty much anyone can relate to. Both characters have a similar dynamic between Spongebob and Squidward, Orange being Spongebob and Pear being Squidward.
Annoying Orange is one of the most detailed Vtubers out there.
