As far as multiplayer is concerned, the combat was highly unbalanced with there being guns and kits that ranged from broken balance-wise to straight up game-breakingly broken. They didn't try to be CS clones and owned up to the fact that they were arcade shooters. MW3 and BO2 were the start of what felt like trying to make the game competitive, but they both still had some cheesy options that kept the spirit of the older era alive.
