>>69140986Ok. The problem with Pippa is that she had till a certain point a constant but progressive growth. That allowed for a mutual understanding between her chat even if a lot of new soon-to-be regulars were present each stream, she had time to acknowledge her audience, their needs, their differences, and so on. But that's not all, another aspect often ignored is the fact that the "slow" growth allowed her to grow alongside chat too in a more relatable and "attainable" manner if that makes sense, you were growing alongside her, you didn't have to rush getting out of neetdom, just one small step at the time like Pippa herself. Even if she had her lows during this period related to this growth it was always followed by a need to get out of that low and chat with her, always interconnected in this weird and peculiar relationship even for the vtuber sphere. Often when we talk about vtubing the term moe comes up a lot, and even if that term seems unrelated to Pippa at the time the feeling I had could be described as such, Moe. In Haru To Shura by Miyazawa a verse by the author always overwhelms me "Ashura and sea urchins/Will think up new ontological proofs as they see them/Consuming their cosmic dust...and breathing in salt water and air/In the end all of these make up a landscape of the heart", we find difficult to explain and come to an agreement about the term moe, my best response is in that verse, Moe is both Ashura and the Sea urching, a landscape of the earth. So even if Pippa's content at the time was deemed by many to be the antithesis of the image of vtubers as idols and the latest iterations of Otaku culture, the reality was that it was nonother than its twin, Pippa was Ashura but the feelings she invoked in many were akin to those of the innocuous sea urchin, Holo. Vtubers are Vtubers, and even if this seems like an idiocy or an inconsistency on my part just think a minute about that, the value of these entities, very different from regular entertainers, and anime, is congruent, I use the word Moe but you can use the word you want as long as in your opinion that peculiar emotion and all the pluralistic subtleties are encapsulated in its letters. Returning to the subject, this all came to an alt when the natural growth of Pippa's persona and brand changed their direction for external factors. Many like to say the point where this trend started was the hog stream, I agree with them with some reservations. Think of Pippa's career as a horse race and Pippa as a gambler, with the hog stream Pippa horse definitely won a big bet, but it still wasn't enough, it wasn't career nor brand changing, all the stuff in the first half that I tried to explain still remained true. But right now we can see that wasn't a single bet Pippa made at the time, a single winning bet, an apparent stroke of luck, no that wasn't it, lurking behind that now we can see there was a perfect Trifecta. That hog stream was just her guessing the third place, the Flavr and the Hogwarts stream were the other two no one could have guessed at the time. All those streams attracted a ginormous audience, and each one of them very different among them. The horses she bet on (not only guided by the deities of luck but also by her commendable perseverance) were very capable stallions but their victory didn't bring only joy. New eyes gazing at you mean more responsibilities especially if you are in a corpo, also some aspects of the first phase of her career would inevitably come to an end, that was obvious to everyone but a change so big in a short stretch of time like that was still very abrupt and hard to digest, albeit in this phase more for Pippa than for her fans. For a period after that, she tried to keep all those compelling aspects of her old persona but everyone minus herself realized that was an impossible feat, relapsing in those old skits would only make her a grotesque caricature of her old self, she has responsibilities not only related to her and those chains are heavy. But despite that what this anon says is right
>>69141021 Pippa has the same qualities, she is the same persona, what is different is the Pippa experience. Pippa knows she has to act like a big shot but at the same time she shows reluctance in doing so, it is an interesting conflict and character, despite not being the same Ashura I know her nature is the same. That's what changed with Pippa, and despite all of that, I still find her palatable and worth oshing, even just for the fact that I'm curious where this is heading.
