And sure, as you say, there's a lot of shit in both genres and what matters is the story and not the cliches...is just that isekai has such an embarassing track record compared to battle harem that its not even funny.
People like Konosuba yeah, but if i have to pick inbetween

This is all like putting an immortal character in your battle series. Sure they CAN be interesting...but the track record of them is having bad fights (because they cant die) and deflating the situation (because they will never be in mortal danger and can stall forever)
