There's nothing wrong with pointing out a problem (presuming it's appropriate for the tone of the content). There IS something wrong with adopting a stance conveying "Well if everyone was just as smart as I am and just did what I think we should do, everything would be perfect."
Modern media lacks depth in it's handling of political themes and references, which is the core issue. This is compounded when this "politically aware" messaging is forced into everything lest you find yourself the next target.
