>>69318482That's a tough question and I know trying to answer a likely bait post with honesty and not by resorting to "it's angry femanons", is definitely not the best use of my time but here we are. Pippa is a vtuber, that much is a given, but it's not a definition to be taken lightly, even if a lot of performers share the same label I think the number of actual vtubers in this board is quite sparse, this epithet is not to be taken lightly, being a vtuber is different to being a streamer, a youtuber or any kind of digital performer. The reason vtubing proliferated in the first place is that people were searching for something different even if they didn't know what, a wistful longing for something more than your typical e-celeb. The disdain for this latter category is still present today even if I'm not enough (given the recent development) of a fool to claim vtubers fans don't watch E-celebs or vice versa. I know the contamination is inevitable, a self-contained hobby is an unobtainable Arcadia, but I believe that vtubing in relation to anime or other now mainstream niches managed to retain a sort of identity. The so-called gatekeepers of anime and videogame are defending ashes, the situation for vtubing is different, I can still see the flame we are guarding every day. That flame is what makes a vtuber a vtuber and Pippa has that, that flame is shared as a sort of subconscious groundwork, it's a non-spoken prerequisite all of them share. What is that flame? In Japanese the word for Twilight 黄昏時 has an interesting etymology, Twilight is the lapse of time that isn't day nor night, an unexplainable and sublime moment every man experiences during his existence, it's also the only time of the day when the shadows of every single creature can establish an ephemeral reign before the mundane and perpetual crumbling by the hands of the night. This reign is visible to everyone and for everyone, the true nature of something that leads us to the etymology of 黄昏時. 誰そ彼 (who are you?), a perpetual fire that casts a perpetual shadow, that's vtubing, a recital that surpasses the boundaries of matter and mind. The type of performance doesn't matter, it can be a Pochade or a Grand Guignol, the shadows the actors cast will still be complementary in their specularity. Pippa is a vtuber, the gigs she partakes in may be peculiar or odd at first sight, but anyone will quickly grow a sense of familiarity and realize Pipkin Pippa is a vtuber. On the contrary, the juxtaposing of the striding element and her unequivocal vtuber nature will only entice the spectator to lay the archaic and cyclic answer at the shadow she casts, 誰そ彼? Why does she cause so much seethe on /vt/? That answer is also not simple but the stuff I babbled about until now might give you an answer, would you get close to an eery and deformed shadow without knowing what casts it? Probably not but what if I told you that such a horrific and disgusting shadow comes from a cute and fluffy bunny? Pippa is not an experience for everyone, and I can understand if those sentiments come from previous Pippa supporters dissatisfied by the fact the actor changed its spectacle after the triumph, they probably have a distorted or different vision of the shadow even if in my mind it's still the same. But I can't respect false actors or the wimps speaking ill about that shadow without even approaching the sinister thing. The fish could bite the barb or the delicious worm but he will never know it if he ignores it or worse if he turns down that opportunity. The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
