>>34694214I think the 'betrayal' Magni will do against the guild is more like, he's going to betray the love and trust they all put into him. Something will go wrong that's partially or wholly his fault, and Magni is going to try and take all the blame for himself and keep the guild's name clean. Perhaps even make Altare kill him in order to achieve that.
idk if any of y'all remember the clone talk from a while back, but that's how I think it's gonna go down. Magni either makes clones of the group (As safe keeping? Some weird emotional closure thing??? Vessels to move their souls into if ever needed?), and his math goes wrong resulting in artificial life where it needn't be.
He'll take this onto himself as something he needs to solve alone, and ignore any pleas from his friends to let them help, possibly stealing material from the guild on his way out. He's not gonna let another team of his die, he'll be able to save them all - only he needs to be injured. Magni Dezmond will be a hero for once, and for that, he'll play the villain.
