The whole e-celeb thing is from more active boards when someone just makes an e-celeb thread or 2 to gossip within their own niches. /pol/ has e-celeb threads on Nick Fuentes or Stxenhammer666 and others while /v/ has Dunkey or someone else, and every other active board has their own youtubers to gossip about.
People complain that these threads are entirely pointless, but ultimately the main solution would be for mods to do their jobs and jannies to clean up messes. Creating a new space for the e-celeb gossip to grow would do nothing but grow the amount of e-celeb gossip on the site, and I really doubt places like /v/ would stop making "IT'S UP!" threads for new Dunkey videos anyways.
