Conveniently Walmart is the largest employer in the state for every one of those states where the minimum wage is $7.25. Small businesses typically don't have enough employees for it to matter as they can just raise prices by a few cents to make up the difference.
None of it really matters though, the way American politics works is that directives come from the top(corporations) down to their slaves(politicians) and then spun and distilled by Fox News and CNN to convince the average American of why being a slave is a good thing and wanting basic amenities is actually communism. Whether the average person wants to raise minimum wage is irrelevant as they aren't in charge.
