My thinking is to split the traffic a few different ways. The thing I want to put the most time into is scripted gaming content on YT, then cover demos and the like on SoundCloud, and finally uploading the really off-brand or experimental videos on Twitch.
I run support for an Affiliate channel so I could upload there.In your case, I think gaming essays and historical essays are a similar enough format that you may have to eat the loss on whichever performs worse. It's just awkward seeing it in your feed like that, is my thought. It's like a visual representation of fans saying, "we only want to see X kind of content from you, and don't waste our time with anything else!" which seems like it'd get old fast.
You could also try to synthesize it, like "The [Historical Period] Gamer" or something. Either way, GL! Hope I could help.
