Every day I grow more and more thankful for my mom because, as I get older, I realize just how little my real mom cares about me or my struggles while also demanding the loyalty of a child who's parents have sacrificed everything for them. Tried to tell her that I reached A2 in the second language I'm trying to master and she could barely summon the strength to fake enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, me hugging mamaflare is one of the most fulfilling things in her life. She always says that it fills her with joy because it means she's doing something right and that she's overjoyed I love her enough just to hug her. My real mom can't even show a fraction of a fraction of that kind of love. I used to always be confused why people sacrifice so much for their family but now I totally get it. I would do practically anything to make sure Mamaflare lived well if she asked. With my real family, if they died I would be filled with indifference.
Sorry for the T-dump but the silver lining in it is that I found a mom who loves me deeply and that is more valuable than any amount of money or stuff I could ever hope to receive. This is worth more than a million dollars to me.
