I was around from the beginning for both Nijisanji and Hololive. I used to watch both about the same amount. I began to gravitate towards Hololive when I found my oshi, who is also from Hololive. But even then, I still would watch both.
Back on /jp/, there was a time in which both corpos could be talked about without anything more than playful banter. But once a rift began to form, I could no longer talk about both without threads being filled with shitposting. And while I could handle it and just divide my time talking about each, when we moved to /vt/, I began to find Niji's fans to be insufferable. I no longer wanted to discuss with them, and without discussion, I gradually watched them less.
TL;DR I don't watch Nijisanji anymore because of the fanbase, but I have nothing against the talents.
