Also, dev_is seem like it has more down to earth girls. No pirate, dragon, alien, samurai...just young adults with realistic careers. They probably want the idolm@ster, girls band... audiences.
Personally, I think dev_is girls's characters are customised really closely to their real like counterpart. So girls can comfortably show their speciality without caring about lore.
Aoi-kun got the short stick though, she probably get a redesign next year.
