Something similar happened on /v/ when the new Indiana Jones game came out and /vpol/ threw a shit fit over screenshots of Indie punching nazis (they were actually Italian soldiers lol). These /pol/lutants then tried to spin the whole thing as controversial "oh how could Indie punch nazis!?" (lol) but it never took off anywhere but among themselves.
